Fireshield Total Comfort can be used as a half hour fire and cavity barrier in a single 50mm blanket or up to one and a half hours when two 50mm blankets are used together.

1987 Fire Test for Building Materials in Non Loadbearing Elements of Construction
The half-hour cavity barrier performance was tested to BS476: Part 22 at Warrington Fire Research Centre in 1987 (Report No. WARRES 41584). The test showed 62 minutes stability and integrity before being discontinued and 20 minutes insulation. The one-hour barrier was tested to BS476: Part 22 at Warrington Fire Research Centre in 1989 (Report No. WARRES 46351). This test showed 105 minutes stability and integrity before being discontinued, and 89 minutes insulation.

60 minutes fire resistance using 19mm thick material (600 x 600mm):
Tested to BS476:Part 21: 1987, report no WARRES 102642.

Side panels interlock together and with the exposed tee grid system.
The bottom edges of the panel are fixed with a layer of plaster such as
Knauf Multilite 90. The lid is laid on to the top of the side panels.
The Firefly Canopy offers a 1 hour fire performance, complies with BS476, and has been tested in conjunction with the EuroLite.
It is supplied with fixings and is quick and easy to install. The canopy is manufactured from a high performance material and is non-respirable with virtually no fibre migration.
Firefly Downlighter Canopies are specifically designed for use with downlighters, to contain the spread of fire and fulfills the requirements of building regulations.
